The Ideal Time To Wake Up, Myth or fact?

Waking up tired is the reality of many people.

So is the ideal time to wake up a myth or a fact?

The final stage, REM sleep (rapid eye movement), is characterized by rapid breathing and increased heart rate and blood pressure. Once REM sleep ends, your sleep cycle begins again.

Both NREM and REM sleep are important for your overall health, but many of today’s sleep experts believe that NREM sleep, particularly the slow-wave stage, is more restorative than REM.

Most people who sleep experience more NREM sleep and less REM sleep during the early parts of the night, after which REM sleep plays a more dominant role in their sleep cycle.

For this reason, going to bed later can deprive you of the much-needed NREM sleep and leave you feeling tired and lazy the next day.

The best time to fall asleep and wake up may depend on whether you are a “night owl” or more in the morning.

In addition, some people do not need the recommended seven to nine hours of sleep to function properly.

That said, going to bed between 8:00 pm and 12:00 pm should provide the balance of NREM and REM sleep needed to wake up feeling alert and refreshed.

One way for a person to establish a good sleep routine is to make their waking time consistent. By setting an alarm for a specific time each day, the body will naturally adjust to that time.

The human body and brain respond naturally to cycles of the environment, such as sunrise and sunset. These cycles help to regulate sleep and wake patterns in humans. Therefore, the ideal would be to wake up to the sunrise.

However, both the quality of sleep and the amount of sleep a person sleeps are equally important. Establishing a consistent routine can help improve sleep quality.

Regardless of whether someone is healthy or not, each person has their routines and their sleep cycles.

It is useless for everyone to wake up at the time considered “ideal” if we have not fulfilled the sleep cycles necessary to be productive during the day.

Some people are more productive before dawn, others are only produced after lunch.

Although it is something that we can adapt to, and there is no exact time to wake up, there is a time interval in which it is ideal to wake up.

No one will be more productive if they wake up in the late afternoon, after having gone to bed at 5 am to study or work.

Our body is not programmed to function like this, nor is it programmed to work after hours, as previously mentioned in the shift work article

Some people can be more productive waking up between 5 and 9, others between 8 and 12, but never much later than that.

Even if we rest for the necessary 8 hours, if we do it after hours it will not be restful sleep.

We will wake up tired, and instead of being more productive for meeting the sleep pattern, we will be unregulated for sleeping out of hours.

So, the ideal time to wake up is that we do it, as long as it fits into what our body can do
